The young tea leaves are shaded from direct sunlight and steamed in the same way as for Gyokuro, then turned into Tencha (non-ground leaves) by drying without rolling, and finally ground in a stone mill. Its elegant aroma and concentrated sweetness make our Matcha a sheer pleasure to drink, while preserving the nutrients as it is mixed in hot water.

Our Matcha is sourced from its source located in the western side of Shizuoka, Japan. Being one of the leading and the largest Farmer of green tea in this region, our supplier organizes and leads the consortium of 120 tea plantation farmers in Shizuoka. The strict quality control system ensures the farmers to grow the highest grade of green tea leaves. Our supplier now produces various green tea leaves, powders and tea bags for green tea retailers and wholesalers in Japan as well as overseas.

We source our tea from only organic Japanese farmers, holding a certification as Organic Japanese green tea manufacturer.

There has been a trend among Japanese green tea farmers growing the green tea without any pesticide in their plantation as popularity of the non-pesticide green tea is growing around the world now. Japanese JAS certification is now officially recognized as an organic certification in USA and EU countries and can be displayed "ORGANIC" on the product.
